Both her Parents are Pakistani & shae say's she is proud to represent Pakistan, I just feel sory for Pakistan that we don't have any one making original Hits in the mainland which would have some impact on the international arena even if its only the electronic plain.

She is an asset at least the she portrais to the west in her capasity that Pakistani's have a more universal Part too us and that we are not clapt up in a shell

wow! typical pakistani attitude! m so sick of it. what one does is his or her own business. i completely agree with ubododo (is this right?) about the origins of pakistan.
but i mean. if someone from pakistani roots becomes famous, why do we all of a sudden start judging them if they are acting according to the pakistani and the islamic moral code? and aamna! i mean, come on! haven't we seen enough skin in pakistan itself? and no u cant be in tune with ur culture if u havent even seen it! if u havent been there, dont go around policing someone else!
born to pakistani parents in LIBYA and brought up in AMERICA. how much pakistani do u expect her to be? why cant we just be calm and happy about how well she is doing. and i think its completely useless to bring her pakistani identity, which is completely non-existent.
this is just the problem with pakis. don't want it, and dont want others to have it either! dont u have other issues to tackle at hand than to criticize someone's clothes! my god how shallow!

To all those who think Pakistan was made in the name of Islam - it wasn't. I doubt those of you who think on these lines have read anything other than what they were taught at school. No offence but do try studying history.

Pakistan was made for the political, economic and social emancipation of the Muslims of India. A very important point that you must try to understand though I figure very few will.

Pakistan was NOT meant to be a state where the Shariat would be the law or Islam the state religion. It was merely meant to be an Indian Muslim majority state where the Muslims of India could live without the fear of having their interests being given secondary importance. Besides a hundred million people could hardly be considered a minority.

Jinnah himself rejected slogans such as 'Pakistan ka matlab la illaha illal la" during the Pakistan movement. He was also called the Kafir-e-Azam (the Great Unbeliever) by the Jamaat-e-Ulema-e-Hind (you can equate it with the Jamaat-e-Islami of Pakistan) and many other Maulvis who also happened to oppose the creation of Pakistan.

Pakistan was the result of a political fact and it was meant to be a modern, secular, democratic republic and I for one am proud to have had Jinnah as our leader.

A good example to consider for comparison would be that of the Republic of Ireland. They demanded independence from the British on the basis of a sect within Christianity and their identity as Irish. It did not mean that the state would impose religious law.

Simply put they just didn't want to be ruled by the English.

Now my point is that you should think on these lines that YOU ARE A PAKISTANI !! Whether you are a Muslim or of any other religion is only secondary if at all important. You could be an atheist and be proud of being a Pakistani.

Being an Indian Muslim is merely a part of your culture and heritage.

Now keeping in mind what I have tried to explain:

Nadia can wear what she wants and what she wears does not cause any disgrace to PAKISTAN.
