I have no problem in exchange of culture and music and all . But DIL DIL HINDUSTAN is just too much. I think they are just traitors and will do anything for cheap publicity. And Gohar’s character is not good. I know of him going after school girls in concerts and just having fun with them. Both Atif and Jal should be careful in what they do because they are representing us, Pakistanis, at an international level. Lastly, they both are really talented within their own calibres.

I give Jal the benefit of the doubt and i think that they got carried away in the excitement of performing in india (which is like a mecca for all out artists and pop singers these day) and unintentionally sang the song to promote the so called “peace” without realising what they have actually done. Promoting peace and showcasing your talent around the world is an excellent thing but it shouldn’t come at the price of the pride of your nation. Limits should be drawn on how far you should go. The nation’s pride should never be hurt. Jal unfortunately in this case crossed the limit!!!!!!!!

I like Jal as a band but i have been highly disappointed at what they have done. I hold the same opinion as Rizwana’s.
1. If Jal tries to melt the ice by reaching out to the Indian Audience then there is nothing wrong with it. It is good for Indo Pak ties. BTW I am a hard core Atif fan, but this is not about Jal and Atif.
2. Please do not make a big deal out of covering songs. If Atif and Jal sing other artists’ songs then it is OK. They have not used this to launch themsleves.They have a lot of work of their own to fall back on and they are well known for that. If they like some songs , they do them,the way many of us sing their songs in parties.
If you are so against plagarism then let us crack down on piracy too. Let us request ISPs to stop providing free content so that you can go and buy each album that you want to listen to. There is no room for these double standards.

Let me make something very clear. just cos there r quite a few people here who r criticising Jal for wat they have done. that does not mean that they r haters, they don’t want peace and friendship and that they r some sort of warmongers. this is utter nonsense!!!! I’m pretty sure all of these people want to live in peace and harmony aswell and r probably more peace hungry than most of the peace preachers on this forum. howevr, they, like myself r genuinely hurt by wat Jal has done.
Wen these ppl see that our artists, such as Jal go to india and sing “dil dil hindustan” or do something similar in good-will wat do they get in return from there artists? disrespect and humiliation. I am refering to an incident wat happened last year wen bollywood actor, feroz khan came to pakistan to promote his brother’s movie Taj Mahal. wat did he do? he disrespected and dishonored our country in our country and wen Fakhr-e-alam (the host of the show) try to stop him (not physically), khan sahib lunged forward to beat him up. where was peace and frienship then?? But this is not the worst part, the worst part as described by Mustansar Hussain Tarar in his column for dawn newspaper was that some pakistani people in the audience said: oh fakhr-e-alam should not have reacted, khan sahib is our guest, we should be cordial and let him say wat he likes, we want peace!!!! ……..bulls***t!!!!!!. i ask people like these, say if a guest comes to ur house and insults ur mother and slaps her in the face. would u say the same thing or would u react????????? Everybody wants peace but if peace is to be achieved by me humiliating my nation and putting the pride of my country on the line……then call me wat u want but i am not prepared to do that!!!!!!!
there r certain people in pakistan that have not broken away from the shackles of partition and always want to stay under the shadow of india. like wen the british were here both the indians and pakistanis said Yes Boss!! to them in everything they did….now wen the british r gone certain pakistanis are saying Yes Boss!!!!!! to the indians. please remember that u r known as a pakistani not an indian.
finally, if singing ‘dil dil hindustan’ promotes peace between pakistan and india….then to promote peace jal should go to every other country we have a problem with to promote peace in similar fashion. so i guess Jal should next go to Israel to sing “dil dil israel”….right?……. oh no but why do i now smell smoke coming out of the heads of the so-called “peace preachers”???
Apart from saying all the above….i still believe that peace and harmony is the only way to go forward but make sure u keep the pride of the country intact.
