beauty lies in simplicity . that used to be the idea behind our dramas earlier . if u watch old dramas and there would be scenes of romance , u could feel the intensity and passion without both of them touching each other and you can rememeber those dramas even today .

Oh come on people!!!!!!!! this is nothing……….you made it sound so bad as if it was like a mouth to mouth scene…….. That would have been shocking but this is decent enough….how else would you expect a husband and wife to act, especially when these two in the drama are husband and wife in real life. This is not even 1% of wat they show in bollywood movies and not even 0.01% of wat they show in hollywood movies and we see both the former and the latter more than our own dramas/movies…..do we close our eyes then and don’t we see bollywood movies with our family????????
I find nothing wrong with this scene. There is a difference between expression of Sensuality or Intimacy and Vulgarity…………and this scene is certainly not vulgar. People who think thi is coarse and dirty have a gross mind themselves.

I completely agree with u rizwana, i remember a drama called musafatain with Jiya Ali and that annoying Ajab Gul. but theres a time in that drama when they’ve lost each other 4ever (Ajab gets married) and they’re sat opposite each other some years later, and u can tell they love each other sooo much, and just that look on Jiya Alis face, so haunting, i’ll remember that forever! they didnt even talk in that scene! THATS romance! good ol’fashioned romance! *aye haaye*

As i said before, in the context of the story of the drama if you can tolerate a father kissing her daughter then similarly why can’t you tolerate a husband kissing his wife on the cheek, which is as innocent as a father kissing her daughter on the forehead. And also you think this scene is “hot and steamy”. Come on wat age r u living in. if you think this is hot and steamy you need to open your eyes to the world.
Do you know that in arab countries when heterosexual men embrace and greet eachother they kiss eachother on the cheek. it is part of their culture. I suppose a person with a gross mind like you might think that is “hot and steamy” and label them as homosexuals.

i’ve watched a lot of ‘modern’ dramay like Jaye kahan ye dil that was very very modern, it had all the top actors/actresses i didnt see ANYTHING like this in that? there was a lot of scope for that 2 happen with aminah haq and sajid hassans newly wed scenes but they kept it family friendly, no1 died as a result of it! so y this?

And for the rest of you people here who comment on “hetrosexual” men kissing each other on the cheek etc in Arab countries (i.e.) Nav; that is not hetrosexual dude. If you had lived in an Arab country you would know that it is part of their culture and s such is depicted in their dramas and movies. Regardless to say, Arabs are not far behind when it comes to adultery in their movies. However, this is really unacceptable. I mean who would have thought we would see such scenes in Pakistani dramas. I mean although it is not hot and steamy; it is still an eye-opener for many Pakistanis. Nevertheless, Pakistan is modernizing, but we should not depict our culture in a negative connotation.

In our culture we respect elders and highly value shame and modesty and where family values mean something , this is really not a good direction our media is taking , we may be living in the 21st century but tell me if your watching tv with your whole family and this scene pops up , wouldnt you feel least bit embarrassed ????

After reading some of the comments on this forum i have been highly disappointed. I believe most of us here are young people, from this generation, from the age of digital communication, internet and globalisation, which means we are more exposed to the outside world nowadays then our predecessors who had less resources and less exposure. so i thought that we will be more tolerant, less impulsive, more open-minded, and will be able to see things in the the right prespective and light while keeping the pride of the country intact. but i guess we still have a long way to go. but i don’t blame u guys that much. I blame these extremist mullahs and these egoistic and selfish politicians that have disillusioned our society and have for years fed us with so much misinformation (about our religion and culture), pessimism, cynicism and negativity that it has become the norm. people are not able to digest optimism and positivity cos they r not used to it. so even if something is morally, ethically and logically is right, people try to find negativity in it. as in this case of this scene, which i personally don’t find offensive. we see much more than that in bollywood movies but we seem to watch them more and with our families as well but never seem to complain.
Rather than listening to these mullah we should read up on the life of the father of our nation- Jinnah. He believed in cold logical reasoning rather than an impulsive attitude, wore mostly western clothes, had a victorian style of living, had pet dogs, and smoked a cigar (I don’t recommend that anybody should smoke but get the point behind wat i’m trying to say). Today wen somebody wears trousers or shirt/blouse and watches english channels….the mullah says, the west has taken over, they have perverted our children…at the end of the day clothes r clothes!!!!!. Today if somebody keeps a pet dog the mullah says it is “nahusat”. And todays mullah says that u don’t need brains or logic to understand and interpret ur religion just close ur eyes and believe in wateva I tell you either right or wrong.

I don’t want to drag on about this mullah issue but everytime u say something it just forces me to answer…….now let me tell u where the link is… if u read bulleh shah’s poetry and philosophy, and study it , it reveals that he was a serious critic of islamic religious orthodoxy. His poetry is filled with direct attacks on anyone claiming control over religion, to the point of comparing mullahs to barking dogs and crowing roosters. don’t believe me?? read up on it urself…. he was also quite critical of all individuals in powerful positions – including intellectuals, academicians and jurists – who create obstacles and unnecessary complexities for common people in discovering love and expressing love. so like i said initially, although dere is morally ethically and logically nothing wrong with the above scene but the extremist mullahs have fed this into ur brain that dere is something wrong and it is against culture and religion….etc etc and that is wat u follow.

Ur welcome to believe what u want, Islam DOES teach us love of course it does! if u have believed otherwise than u really have been misled. The mullahs really don’t have that much power over anyone their job is to teach us the basics, and after that were on our own, maybe thay do inspirational talks, sometimes these talks really show u the harsh reality, sometimes u don’t agree, its all up 2 u, they are only human at the end of the day.
Abt bulley shah – theres a difference btwn love and lust. u cant change religion 4 it to fit into ur own little fantasies! (as much as we ALL want that) were only human.

I think ratings should be included in our channels from now own. PG rating can be given to dramas which show scenes of intimacy. This way the children and parents won’t face an uneasy situation when such a scene airs.
Though I still feel that there was nothing vulgur about the scene, which is very important. The sad thing is that intimacy, love and affection to the opposite gender is seen with a cynical gaze and thus a lot of Pakistanis miss out on a very important part of expression of love.

Dear all……….being in US and after seeing tons of different cultues, i was at ease and rather proud of my own origin until now. I havnt seen the drama itself but this site was sent to me by a friend of mine in PAk. And ofcourse i was shocked!!!!
You guys are forgetting that its not our culture we have to portray infront of the entire world…….its our religion. We are not better off with all the modern turning points in our media, let alone showing off open expressions. Whatever happened to dignity, shame, soberness, decency???
